About Department
The Department of Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) at Sphoorthy Engineering College was established in the year 2004 with an initial intake of 60 students. Today, the department has grown significantly, with an intake capacity of 240 students. Over the years, the department has achieved remarkable academic excellence and placement records, thanks to its well-established resources, which include a team of quality faculty and state-of-the-art infrastructure.
The department places a strong emphasis on providing industry exposure to students and bridging the gap between academic learning and industry requirements through Memorandums of Understanding (MOUs) with several organizations such as EDUSKILLS, UPGRAD, QUANTUM LEARNING, ICT, Bharat Blockchain and TASK.
Additionally, we have built a comprehensive ecosystem within the department to guide and support students in their academic and extracurricular activities. Our robust mentoring system, active learning strategies and student-centric teaching methods, ensures that each student receives personalized attention and encouragement. Students are also encouraged to enhance their knowledge by enrolling in self-learning courses such as NPTEL and SWAYAM, while also having access to coding platforms like HackerRank, Simplilearn, Great Learning Code Tantra, and others to improve their problem-solving skills.
